The School of Hard Knock Knocks is Australia's own stand-up comedy school, with stand-up comedy classes run across Australia, and our head quarters at The Rubber Chicken in Melbourne.

Founded in 2016, the School of Hard Knock Knocks has been helping keynote speakers, bucket list tickers and budding comedians develop stand-up comedy skills. This is accomplished through monthly hands-on, evening workshops and our own online course, which combines adult learning techniques, mentoring from veteran stand-up comedians, and loads of practice. Our mentors have included Steve Hughes, Richard Stubbs, Matt Okine, Jeff Green, Chris Franklin, and Nikki Osborne, just to name a few.

Upon graduation, the school helps graduates continue their journey by producing the ‘The Best Of’ festival shows, at Adelaide Fringe, Melbourne International Comedy Festival (MICF) and Sydney Fringe Festival. The school also runs a monthly show in Melbourne called Punchlines Comedy, which features only the funniest School of Hard Knock Knocks graduates, who perform alongside Australia's best stand-up comedians.

And in March, 2021 The School of Hard Knock Knocks released the comedy-drama 'Is This Thing On?',  following 10 newbie comedians learning stand-up comedy with the help of some of Australia's funniest stand-up comedians, on Apple TV.
