Over six Wednesday evenings from January 6 to February 17, you will learn how to create, edit and publish your own original podcast show. You'll not only receive the training, but also podcast hosting, a unique website, social media accounts and access to The Rubber Chicken Studios to record future episodes.

Week 1: ideation

Choose the concept, audience and purpose. Select a sustainable format: solo, co-host, expert/interviewer, full-episode guest or contrasting personalities.

WEEK 2: BRANDING AND POSITIONING

Choose a podcast title, register a domain and select social media handles. Create artwork, logos and branding, including your own professional headshot. Create a jingle for the opening 'bumper'.

WEEK 3: PRE-PRODUCTION

Present your branding and music to the class. Book guests and prepare a run sheet, questions and introductions. Prepare guest briefs, release forms and checklists.

WEEK 4: PRODUCTION (RECORDING)

Learn microphone technique, reduce filler words and sound confident.
Learn how to set up the studio and use the RØDECaster Pro II.
Then book three recording sessions to record your episodes.

WEEK 5: POST-PRODUCTION (EDITING)

Learn how to use Audacity and Adobe Premiere. Edit out mistakes and add music ‘bumpers’ and cold opens. Then export the final recordings ready for distribution!

WEEK 6: DISTRIBUTION

Present your finished podcast episodes and website, then publish via the Acast network and YouTube. Then embed your episodes into your own website and share them to the world.
